I took over the running of Steeles Mill in 2009. Named after my Dad, Steele, Mum and Dad were farmers and conservationists, and specialised in restoring buildings on the farm, they had been ahead of their time for many years. They diversified into tourism back in the late 60’s, they had vision, enthusiasm and loved meeting people, Steeles Mill was their last project together. I feel a great weight of responsibility to carry on in the way they would have wanted to.
Mine is more of a chaotic juggling act maintaining running Steeles mill with a full-time job and family, but I always love welcoming people to a very special place.
